Carrera to Race Days of Thunder

Kidd-Richardson Racing has  announced the signing of Skid Carrerato race for the team in the 2004 Days of Thunder championship. 

Carrera, who has a wealth of experience in a number of series fromCaterhams to Ferraris, will drive the number 22 Chevrolet Monte Carlo.

Skid said, "So far I've completed precisely 17 laps on an oval, yet I'malready hooked and looking forward to contributing to KRR's ambitiousgoals for 2004.  It's a great privilege to be part of such an importantseries at a time when everyone - teams, sponsors, fans, drivers andRockingham themselves are showing such a commitment to making Days ofThunder the UK's premier motorsport."

Duane Kidd of Kidd-Richardson Racing commented, "It's great to finallyhave Skid onboard. We've been talking since October of last year, sowe're very happy that we've managed to put this deal together. We hopehe'll be quickly on the pace and replicating the form the ShaunRichardson showed last season".

The first meeting of the 2004 season takes place at Rockingham on Sunday2nd May.  A large crowd is expected as the off track entertainment willbe headlined by No 1 band Blue, who are performing a full live concerton the Smash Hits Rockingham stage.

The Days of Thunder series - featuring 170mph American V8 car racing asseen in the Tom Cruise film of the same name - will take place on thefirst Sunday of each month, from May to October. Rockingham's 52,000seater venue offers 100% visibility from 95% of its seats, which meansfans can witness all the action at Europe's fastest circuit.   Top musicacts will perform on the Smash Hits Rockingham Stage at all the Days ofThunder events, with Blue performing live on Sunday 2nd May.
