Weather wrecks Williams test

The BMW WilliamsF1 Team was forced to abandon its final day of testing at Le Castellet, as weather conditions deteriorated.  Juan Pablo Montoya and Antonio Pizzonia were on duty for the BMW WilliamsF1 Team yesterday, however their programmes were seriously compromised by the appalling weather conditions.

In the morning, both drivers focussed on the WilliamsF1 BMW FW26's traction control, carrying out a number of practice starts.

However, as a result of strong winds and driving rain, the team eventually decided to abandon the session.

Following the San Marino Grand Prix (April 25th), the BMW WilliamsF1 Team will take part in a four-day test at Silverstone.

Sam Michael (Chief Operations Engineer, WilliamsF1): "Juan Pablo and Antonio were on testing duty for the team today, with both drivers completing some traction control work and practice starts in preparation for Imola. However, strong wind and driving rain forced us to abandon running this afternoon. Overall, the test was quite useful as we managed to identify several set-up options for the forthcoming San Marino Grand Prix. We also verified some new directions on tyre compounds and casings with Michelin.”
