Leading Days of Thunder racer Anthony Swan has signed to compete in the2004 Championship at Rockingham with Torquespeed.
Anthony, from the village of Gretton which is just two miles fromRockingham, finished 6th in the 2003 series, with the highlight of theyear coming when he took pole position and the fastest lap atEurospeedway in Germany. He is also a well known face with local schoolchildren when, as part of the Rockingham / Days of Thunder roadshow, hevisited many of the local primary schools in the Corby area last year.
"I am really looking forward to the coming season at Rockingham drivingfor top team Torquespeed," said Anthony. "This will be my third seasonin Days of Thunder and my sights are firmly set on the top step of thepodium."
John Mickel, Torquespeed Team Principle, said: "Anthony will make astrong addition to the team of drivers created by Torquespeed for thisyear's campaign and we look forward to getting him in a Torquespeedprepared car and on the track as soon as possible!"
The first meeting of the 2004 season takes place at Rockingham on Sunday2nd May. A large crowd is expected as the off track entertainment willbe headlined by No 1 band Blue, who are performing for 60 minutes liveon the Smash Hits Rockingham stage.
