Skoda Group A Fabia in BRC

Škoda UK will enter their Group A Fabia in selected rounds of the 2004 Kwik-Fit Pirelli British Rally Championship. The Fabia rally car was originally built by Škoda Motorsport at their factory in the Czech Republic and then despatched to the UK for further development.  Fitted with a new 1.4 16v engine and Sadev gearbox, the car is now ready for some serious competition.

Accomplished Welsh rally driver Julian Reynolds is to drive Skoda UK's Group A Fabia.  Co-driven by fellow countryman Ieuan Thomas, Reynolds' first outing in the Fabia will be at the end of April on the opening round of the British Championship, the Gateshead-based Pirelli International Rally.

Julian is no stranger to front-wheel drive rally cars and was the British National Formula 2 Champion in 1993.  Since 1997, Julian, from Narberth, has competed on a number of events counting towards the FIA World Rally Championship that have taken him as far afield as Australia and New Zealand while, nearer home, he finished eighth overall on our own Network Q Rally GB at the end of 2002.The British Championship campaign will be run by Morgan Motorsport and the team will be managed by Andy Rogers who is no stranger to Škoda, having masterminded the class-winning performance of the Group N production-specification Fabia in the 2002 National Rally Championship.

Sponsorship for the Fabia comes from the Incredible Group and, as a foretaste of the season, the car will be on display at BRC Live! at Bramcote Army Barracks, near Nuneaton, on Sunday 21 March. Škoda retailers Brooklyn Škoda of Rugby, Prestige Garage of Coventry and Farmer's of Leicester are nearby for rally fans to see the road-going versions of the Škoda Fabia, along with its sister cars, the Octavia and Superb.
