Pellegrino quick in WSL at Zolder

Matteo Pellegrino showed up in great shape for Thursday’s free practice session of the World Series Light race scheduled on Sunday after participating in a test session last week on the same track.

The time he set; 1’25’’493, places him in first place. Mathieu Lahaye is the runner up and is at least 1 second behind Matteo.

Two other free practice sessions are scheduled for today and two qualifying stints are on the programme for Saturday. Race 1 will start at 11:00am on Sunday and race 2 will be at 1:20pm on the same day.

Matteo Pellegrino

“I started off on the right foot but my adversaries will definitely breathe down my neck at the weekend. The first session today was on a wet track and I drove without pushing too hard. Then the track dried up and in the afternoon session, I lowered my time progressively until I set a good 1’25’’493 with new tyres on. I lowered my time set last week on this track by 6 seconds. Therefore, I am very enthusiastic about this upcoming race on Sunday.”
