BMW WilliamsF1 Team drivers, Ralf Schumacher and Antonio Pizzonia , topped the timesheets at Silverstone yesterday as rain hampered running for the second day. Once again, the typical British spring weather caused disruption at Silverstone as the BMW WilliamsF1 Team continued its preparations for next week's Spanish Grand Prix at Barcelona.
Continual rain meant that Ralf Schumacher and Antonio Pizzonia were severely restricted regarding the number of laps they could complete, although the BMW WilliamsF1 Team duo ended the day at the top of the timesheets.
As the rain continued to fall, both drivers carried out evaluations of various compounds and wet weather tyres for Michelin.
Antonio completed the most laps today (28), and also posted the fastest time, 1:32.449, while Ralf could only complete 12 laps, posting a best time of 1:33.236.
Tim Newton (Test Team Manager, WilliamsF1): "Ralf and Antonio were on testing duty for the team today, with both drivers once again topping the time sheets. With saturated conditions once again disturbing the running at the Northamptonshire track, Ralf and Antonio continued as best they could with the scheduled programme, concentrating on systems checks, set-ups and tyre exploration work."
