Date for Rally Supercar Day

Following a very successful event in 2003, dozens of theworld's best-loved rally cars, past and present, will takepart in the 4th Rally Supercar Day, at Castle Combe Circuitin Wiltshire on Saturday 14 August.

New for 2004 will be a display of Rally Raid vehicles,including competing cars, motorcycles and even one of thegiant T4 trucks from this year's Paris Dakar event.

For special stage fans, examples of almost every car ralliedduring the past 30 years will be there: From historic Ministhrough to Ford Escorts and Lotus Sunbeams from theGroup 4 era; Audi quattros and Metro 6R4s from theGroup B 'supercar' days; right up to current rally cars.

Star drivers include past British Rally Champion and RAC Rallywinner Pentti Airikkala, with ex-co-driver and TV star TonyMason commentating on the action both on and off the track,and interviewing guest drivers, teams and traders attendingthe show.

Russ Swift will be joined by his son, who seems set to followin his father's footsteps, for his popular precision drivingdisplay. Expect crowd-pleasing 'donuts' to follow.

Based at what is widely-regarded as Britain's most spectatorfriendly motorsport venue, the Rally Supercar Day featuresa mixture of action on the track and in the paddock, withactivities and attractions to suit everyone interested inrallying.

General admission to this year's event is £10, with tradepitches starting from £100.
