New Chiron impresses in Supersports

The two new Chirons of Peter Hobday and Doug Hart will join the Dunlop Supersports Championship for the next pair of races at Croft on 15/16 May.

Hobday drove his all-new LMP3-04 for the first time at Donington on Thursday (29 April) and was thrilled with the car's performance straight out of the box, despite very poor weather conditions.

"The weather was awful and an Aston Martin put a trail of oil all round the circuit," reported team boss Henry Nickless. Despite the conditions, Hobday declared himself delighted with the new car, which had been finished after an all-nighter by Nickless and his crew. "With limited time available and a new engine that had to be run in, he took it steady," added Nickless.

Hobday is due to test again at Silverstone on Tuesday (4 May), while Hart will give his new LMP3 a shakedown at Donington on Friday (7 May).

With both new cars joining championship leader Stephen Shanly on the grid at Croft, it will be the strongest ever entry from the Chiron marque.
