James Thompson won the second of Sunday's three Green Flag MSA British Touring Car Championship rounds at Silverstone in his Vauxhall Astra Coupe.
Thompson, starting from seventh on the grid, quickly worked his way to the front to draw clear of a multi-car fight for second position.
It was his Vauxhall team-mate Yvan Muller who eventually took the runner-up spot after fending off Anthony Reid, in the WSR team’s MG ZS. SEAT Sport UK’s Robert Huff, who started from pole position, held the place for much of the race until he ran off the track and fell to seventh.
BTCC returnee Kelvin Burt gave Team Sureterm its best BTCC result to date by finishing fourth in its Astra.
