Two brand new Bentley Continental in the Blancpain Endurance Series

Bentley will enter two Continental cars in this year’s Blancpain Endurance Series. Both cars will be entered in the Pro-category; the driver line-ups will be announced shortly.

The Bentley Continental is one of the most long-awaited cars for the 2014 Blancpain GT Series. The car, developed by Bentley in co-operation with M-Sport, made its race debut last December, during the 12 hours of Abu Dhabi. The white and British Racing Green machine performed splendidly, finishing in fourth place.

Powered by a race-prepared version of Bentley’s powerful road-going 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 and with the instantly recognisable shape of the Continental GT, the car is a true member of the Continental family. Alongside its racing ambitions, it retains its luxury Grand Tourer roots, with the steering wheel, carbon racing seat and leather door-pulls all trimmed and stitched by hand by the craftsmen and women at the Bentley factory in Crewe.

Belgian Audi Club Team WRT believes in strength in numbers and enters four Audi R8 LMS Ultra in the Blancpain GT Series

Belgian Audi Club Team WRT, the title holders in the FIA GT Series, will enter no fewer than four Audi R8 LMS Ultra in this year’s Blancpain Sprint Series. The Belgian squad is clearly determined to defend their title, in both driver and team classifications.

But their ambitions are not limited to the Blancpain Sprint Series. Having finished as runners-up in the 2013 Blancpain Endurance Series, the team managed by Vincent Vosse is aiming to retake the title, which they held in 2012 and 2011. Three Audi R8 LMS Ultra will be entered in the Blancpain Endurance Series, with a fourth car on the grid for the Total 24 Hours of Spa. The driver line-ups will be announced shortly.

Three cars will therefore be running for the overall classification in the Blancpain GT Series.

Vincent Vosse (team principal): “The Blancpain GT Series is clearly among the most important GT championships in the world. We owe it to ourselves to be present in both endurance and sprint events, especially since in the past we managed to conquer both titles. We are certain that we can be among the frontrunners this year as well.”

Stef Dusseldorp joins reigning champions HTP Motorsport

After three seasons with Hexis Racing Dutchman Stef Dusseldorp joins HTP Motorsport for 2014. The 24-year-old already raced the Mercedes SLS AMG GT3 during the Navarra meeting of the FIA GT Series last year, sharing the car with Alon Day. Dusseldorp will enter both sprint and endurance events of the Blancpain GT Series.

The German squad was a dominant force in the European GT scene last year, winning the Total 24 Hours of Spa, the Blancpain Endurance Series drivers’ title with Maximilian Buhk as well as claiming both Pro-Am and Gentlemen Trophy titles in the FIA GT Series in association with Gravity Charouz.

Stef Dusseldorp: “My two most important targets for 2014 were to be able to fight for wins and to drive as many races as possible. HTP Motorsport now gives me the opportunity to fulfil both wishes. It is an honour and a privilege to drive for the reigning champions.”
