,Motors TV Weekend Highlights February 22,23

The 2014 NASCAR Nationwide Series gets underway this weekend in Florida and our live coverage of the traditional curtain raiser at Daytona kicks things off. With the sun-soaked speedway hosting the full complement of NASCAR championships, the atmosphere is always charged ahead of the first round of the season. With last year’s champion Austin Dillon now graduated to the highest tier, the focus shifts to his younger brother Ty, who makes his full-time debut in the series in place of his elder sibling at the RCR squad. Ex-Formula 1 driver Nelson Piquet Jr. will likely return for another season, while Regan Smith will be eager to capitalise on his two wins in 2013.With a mix of both Sprint Cup and Nationwide drivers competing on Saturday, expect the intensity levels to be off the scale as the green flag drops.Staying in the Sunshine State, Motors TV will also have full highlights of the first round of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, with Matt Crafton and Toyota looking to defend their respective titles. Meanwhile Johnny Sauter is chasing a repeat of his victory 12 months ago as he tries to improve on his fourth place finish in the final table. With only 38 points covering second to sixth in the 2013 standings, expect the action to be fiercely competitive at Daytona as the field try and knock Crafton off his perch.Moving across the Pacific, we have highlights of the Toyota Racing Series’ blue riband event, the New Zealand Grand Prix at Manfeild Autocourse. Alongside Macau, the Kiwi contest is the only race in the world allowed to use the Grand Prix tag outside F1, making victory especially sought after.Two-time defending champion Nick Cassidy is focusing solely on this race during the 2014 campaign, with the 19-year-old aiming to complete a hat-trick of wins at Manfeild. Only Sir Stirling Moss, Sir Jack Brabham, Craig Baird and Ken Smith have achieved this feat, meaning Cassidy could join an exclusive club. There is also the small matter of the drivers’ championship to decide as the season reaches its climax. Can Andrew Tang win his first title and break the Kiwi domination of the series? Motors TV is the only place to find out.Meanwhile in Nevada, we have highlights of the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series that pits extreme pick-ups against one another over an enlarged motocross track. Former Pro 4 champion Carl Renezeder will be trying to slide his way to victory in search of a third title. In a change from the desert dust, we have a full review of the UK’s premier powerboat series, P1 Superstock. Defending champion Alex Carella will look to continue his domination by securing a third successive title. With a mix of track, aquatic and dirt competition, Motors TV is the only place to catch the full wave of action from the four corners of the globe this weekend.Saturday 22 February 10:35 P1 Superstock UK Review13:10 Toyota Racing Series New Zealand, Rd 5, Manfeild – Highlights15:00 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, Rd 1, Daytona – Highlights17:00 LIVE NASCAR Nationwide Series, Rd 1, Daytona21:00 Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series, Rd 11, Sparks – HighlightsSunday 23 February10:35 Toyota Racing Series New Zealand, Rd 5, Manfeild – Highlights12:10 NASCAR Nationwide Series, Rd 1, Daytona – Highlights15:45 Irish Tarmac Rally Championship, Rd 1, Galway – Highlights All times are GMT
