Richard Westbrook will race with Red Line Racing for the rest of the Porsche Carrera Cup GB season, starting at Oulton Park this coming weekend (22/23 May). The title contender joined the team for the recent Silverstone races and has now confirmed that the move is permanent, after starting the season with BEAST Racing.
"It's a shame that BEAST Racing is no longer in a position to run me, but I'm very pleased to be with Red Line Racing for the rest of the year," explained Westbrook. He will join Nigel Rice, Jason Young and Des Winks in the Red Line squad under the leadership of Simon Leonard.
"It went so well being with Red Line at Silverstone that it was the obvious choice. All the guys at Red Line are excellent and we had a really good test at Oulton Park on Friday. We've just got to concentrate on clawing back the points lead that Tim Harvey has got," added Westbrook.
Leonard is delighted to have his squad back to full strength with four cars. "We're very pleased to have Richard with us for the rest of the season. It should help us maintain our lead in the team championship and we want to give him the very best chance of winning the drivers' title," says Leonard.
