After a highly successful second place trophy result in Dubai last month, KPM Racing will next be heading to the picturesque hills of Tuscany in Italy for the next round of this year’s 24H SERIES powered by Dunlop - the inaugural Dunlop 12H ITALY-MUGELLO, on 14 - 15 March 2014.The team achieved its first endurance race podium with its purpose built Milltek Sport Volkswagen Golf Mk 6 TDI in the D1 (diesel touring cars up to 2000cc) class at the esteemed 24 Hours of Dubai.
For its second enduro at the Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello, Buckinghamshire based KPM Racing will once again be enlisting the talents of BTCC driver Tom Onslow-Cole, endurance racer Paul White, Britcar title-winner Javier Morcillo and in his first enduro event, Milltek Sport driver and KPM Racing VW Cup driver, James Walker.Tom Onslow-Cole: “I am really excited to be going back for the second round of the 24 hours championship. A massive thanks to Milltek and KPM Racing for the opportunity; after our first endurance race in Dubai I am confident that we can move up one more step in Mugello.”
Paul White: “After two full days testing this weekend the ‘Tres Caballeros’ are looking forward to Mugello in the Milltek Golf. We are confident it is in perfect form and we are ready to take the fight to very front of the 12 Hours field. Creventic put on a great event and KPM Racing prepares a superb car, so with the cobwebs blown out we are looking for the top spot this time round.”
KPM Racing team owner, Kevin Poole, adds: “After an extremely successful first outing earlier in the year, it is a great pleasure to confirm our entry in the upcoming 12H of Mugello. We learned a lot from our first race, which was a bit of a baptism of fire, but we hope to take our knowledge from Dubai and apply it in Italy. Even more encouraging is that we have a very competitive driver line up confirmed to continue our quest for a win. We welcome back Tom, Paul and Javier from our solid line up in Dubai and also add newcomer and recently announced Milltek Sport driver James Walker. I’m very much looking forward to working with them all again, and only hope that this time I can give them the “next size up” trophy to take home.”
