Two races on Saturday for the teams and drivers in France
The Winter Series by GT Sport 2014 is ready for its second event. A key one, as this will comprise “real” races, the first ones of the season. After the stop in Jerez for a two-day testing session, the International GT Open and the Euroformula Open are heading to Le Castellet for the second rendez-vous out of three.
In Southern France, in the pristine premises of the Circuit Paul Ricard, teams and drivers will have the possibility to continue their preparation, thanks to a total of six sessions of private tests of 55 minutes each, but also to allow race adrenalin flow, in the two 50-minutes races scheduled on the afternoon of Saturday 1 st March.
A total of 16 cars have confirmed their presence to this early racing opportunity. In SuperGT, three Ferraris F458 will be entered, two by Kessel Racing (with the lone Michal Broniszewski on one, and Aluko-Kemenater on the other) and one by AT Racing for the Talkanitsa family.
In GTS, the SMP Racing Russian Bears will be present, again with Daniel Zampieri and José Manuel Aicart among their drivers, alongside the F458 of AF Corse, with Michele Rugolo-Claudio Sdanewitsch, as well as the two machines of Ombra Racing (Mario Cordoni-Stefano Gattuso y Marco-Magli-Matteo Cairoli). Kessel Racing completes the Prancing Horse delegation with three Challenge cars. Among the drivers, is to be noted the one-off presence of GT Open reigning champion Andrea Montermini and of Giacomo Piccini.
Porsche will be again represented by the car of PRO GT by Alméras with Eric Dermont-Lucas Lasserre, while two Mercedes SLS are expected, one by Seyffarth Motorsport and another by Plachutta Racing. Kox Racing’s Lambo and an Aston Martin GT4 by Veloso Motorsport complete the grid.
