Full contact action at Bovington

Spedeworth hosts another four formula feast of racing action when the National Bangers, Rookie Bangers, Ministox and Lightening Rods take to the track at Bovingdon Raceway on Sunday May 23 at 1.30pm.

The safety wall at the Hertfordshire circuit will be getting a thorough testing when the headlining National Bangers (unlimited over 1800cc autos) storm the track. The big National Bangers are real crowd pleasers at Bovingdon, delivering tyre smoking spin outs and massive crashes as the drivers put the bumper into the opposition and bring smiles to the faces of the spectators and the local scrap metal dealers.

Fans of fender bending racing will be well cared for at Bovingdon as the National Bangers are supported by their smaller brethren, the Rookie Bangers. While this formula is billed as a "light contact" form of Banger racing, the Rookies leave the track strewn with wrecked cars after every event and thanks to large grids always deliver some spectacular pile ups as the day's racing progresses.

Adding to the day's action packed racing, the Lightning Rods will power around the circuit, delivering the kind of high speed bumper to bumper, door handle to door handle racing that has earned them the nick name "Frightening Rods."

Rounding off the day's festival of racing the Ministox will allow their young (11-16 year old) drivers to learn the skills required to make it to the top of the short circuit racing world, while treating the audience to some thrilling bumper to bumper racing.

With yet another value for money four formula racing programme, free parking, and a great view of all the action from high-banked spectator areas, Bovingdon (situated off B4005 Bovingdon, Nr Hemel Hempstead, Herts, on the airfield complex) provides a great day out for all the family when the green flag waves on May 23.
