Sieders back in the winners circle in Adelaide

Dave “Sideways” Sieders has continued his perfect start to the 2014 Australian V8 Ute Racing Series – protected by Hawkei after taking out a comfortable race win on the Adelaide Parklands street circuit this afternoon, 28th February 2014.

The win is the first one in an FG V8 Ute for the 29 year old, from Londonderry in Sydney’s West, and has given Sieders maximum points after two of four points sessions.

“Pole and a race win to start the year, I haven’t done that in two years here, so I’m pretty happy right now,” said Sieders, “I got a good jump from [Kris] Walton off the line and once I got myself a gap, I had a pretty easy race”.

“We got to the top of the timesheets halfway through the race, and with the others behind fighting hard, I had almost a four second gap and was able to ease it off a little bit and make sure I looked after the tyres.”

As the winner of the first race, Sieders had the task of drawing the reverse grid lotto, and will start just outside of the top 10 in tomorrow’s race.

“It was the second worse number I could have picked this year, but then again I’ve reversed 18 here in 2011 and managed to get back to sixth, so I’ll be looking to cutting through the field again.”

The Australian V8 Ute Racing Series has two races remaining on the Adelaide Parklands street circuit with race two tomorrow at 9:25am and Sunday’s race at 10:50am, with the final one broadcast as live (check local guides).

“It’s all going well for us at the moment, and if we can cut through tomorrow’s reverse grid race, we’ll have a good shot at our first round win here in an FG.”
