Nicky Grist, former co-driver and head of the panel of judges said: "The new Peugeot 307 has been plagued with power steering problems for the first 3 rallies of the year, but the engineering team have managed to overcome this with consistent hard work and development, and have turned it around to go on to win the Cyprus Rally - the twistiest event of the year. When the Peugeot 206 was launched it took eight rallies before it claimed its first victory - the 307 has achieved this in just five! The engineering team should be proud of what they have achieved."
Following the presentation of the award, Corrado Provera, Team Director, commented: " It has been a lot of hard work but the team have really pulled together to overcome these problems and to see Gronholm take the honours this soon after the launch of the Peugeot 307 has certainly made it all worthwhile. It is fantastic to be presented with this award and to see the team recognised as the Inmarsat Stars of the Rally."
