James Walker, Lucas Orrock and Paul Bolwell will contest the 2014 Milltek Sport Volkswagen Racing Cup with title-winning team KPM Racing.

The trio join Sam Morgan and Philip Morris in a fleet of Scirocco’s and Golf GTI Mk VI cars prepared and run by the Buckinghamshire based KPM team, which won the VW Racing Cup title in 2012 with James Walker. 27 year old James, from Nottinghamshire, took a year out in 2013 to marry his wife Nicky and is now looking forward to challenging for the title once again, this time as winner of Milltek Sport’s 2014 ‘Win a Drive’ competition.

James comments, “KPM has a strong line-up this season and I'm really excited to be part of it. From past experience I know how professional the team are and how they operate, so I'm looking forward to being part of such a successful team once again. Let's hope all our hard work pays off like it did in 2012.”

Lucas Orrock is making his saloon car debut with KPM Racing this year. The 23 year old from Cambridge started his racing career in club level karting in 2006. He entered the Super 1 National Championships achieving third overall in 2008, the runner-up trophy in 2009 and was Champion in 2010, 2011 and 2012. In 2009 he was also the winner of the British Open Championship and in 2010 and 2011 he won the British Grand Prix. 2013 saw him achieve second place in the MSA senior KZ1 class and eight podium finishes in 12 races of the European Rotax Championship.Lucas adds, “Initial testing has looked quite promising for us. It's quite a big step change from karting, but with the distance we've covered we are confident we can mix it at the sharp end of the grid.”

After 10 years building a successful e-commerce business, 37 year old Paul Bolwell, from Hampshire, has decided to try his hand at motorsport. He joins KPM Racing as their Rookie driver for the season. Having spent several hundred hours of track time on both two and four wheels, he's made the decision to enter competitive racing in 2014.

Paul says, "I looked around many race series before making a commitment and The VW Cup appealed to me because of the track action, the circuits it visits and the hospitality it offers.

“I was introduced to Kevin via Scott Gilham and tested with the team back in December. I really enjoyed my time with the team and new straight away that I'd made the right choice. I am looking forward to getting in to the Scirocco tomorrow and very keen to get this next chapter in my life started."

Kevin Poole, KPM Racing team owner, concludes, “It's a great pleasure to be returning to the Milltek Sport VW Racing Cup in 2014. We have completed several hundred miles of testing during the closed season and are now keen to get racing. We are currently building Lucas a new Scirocco which will be tested for the first time next week. Phil Morris also has a new Mk 6 wide bodied Golf in build, which he plans to race at Brands Hatch and Spa. Paul has been handed Martin Depper’s podium machine from last season and Sam returns in the mk6 golf he excelled in at Donington last year.”

The 2014 Milltek Sport Volkswagen Racing Cup season commences on Easter Monday, 21 April, at the Oulton Park circuit in Cheshire. The 2014 champion will win a funded drive in the final round of the Scirocco R Cup in Germany.ENDS
