Round 1: Tour of Epynt, 9 March

Damian Cole and co-driver Elliott Edmondson started the new season as they finished the last, with a win aboard their Ford Focus WRC.

Cole, the reigning champion, won the Tour of Epynt by a mere second from the Subaru Impreza WRC of Peter Lloyd and Neil James. Last year’s Epynt winners Steve Simpson and Patrick Walsh completed the podium in their Impreza, arriving back at the Llandovery finish just nine seconds off the leader.

John Stone and Carl Williamson were fourth in their Skoda Fabia WRC, with the Imprezas of Robert Swann and Darren Garrod, and recent four-wheel-drive convert John Indri and Peter James, rounding off the top six. The first two-wheel-drive car home was the Escort MkII of Simon Mauger and 2013 champion co-driver Brian Cammack.
