Team Falken Preps for Sebring 12 Hour with New Porsche 911 RSR‏

Fresh from its Sebring Winter Test, Team Falken – which took first place at last season’s Petit Le Mans in the highly competitive GT Class of the former ALMS – is quickly ramping up for the upcoming 12 hours of Sebring in the new Tudor United SportsCar Championship, and will debut a brand new 2014 Porsche 911 RSR alongside regular stablemates Wolf Henzler and Bryan Sellers. They will be joined at Sebring by experienced Porsche factory driver Marco Holzer who hails from Germany.Upon arrival to the U.S., the new Porsche 911 RSR was quickly adopted by Falken veterans Henzler and Sellers, who will compete together for the fifth straight year. Working very closely with Porsche as a strong partner, Team Falken is currently the only customer in the world for the new 2014 RSR chassis.Equipped with Falken RT-Slicks the team embarks on their 2014 race season, it will once again be managed and operated by Derrick Walker Racing which will look to immediately impact the Tudor United SportsCar Championship series as done in its previous years in ALMS series.

Noted veteran Porsche Factory Driver Henzler: “Our Falken Tire Porsche 911 RSR performed great over the two days and is clearly an improvement over last year’s car. We were able to run a lot of laps without any problem and all three drivers had enough time in the car to get comfortable. This test was of great value and very important to all of us because there won't be much testing during the Sebring 12 Hour week.

“I am very happy about driving again with Bryan and having much of the same crew as last year,” Henzler continued. “Continuity is a key factor in racing. I would say our team is one of the best in the new United SportsCar Championship and I am looking forward to racing at Sebring with both Bryan and Marco, who joins us as our third driver.”Holzer, latest team addition, also expressed eagerness during Sebring Winter test. “I’m really happy to join Team Falken for the 12 hours of Sebring,” he said. “The race should be good and I will do all I can to help score as many possible points for the team.” “I can’t add any more than what my teammates have already stated,” added Sellers. “Sebring is a special place and I’m looking forward to having our new Porsche 911 RSR under our control as we compete for the win.”
