ROCKINGHAM NEEDS YOU!
CALLING all motorsport fans! How would you like to get your hands on a FREE pair of tickets to Rockingham’s opening race meeting of the new 2014 season?
The Northamptonshire circuit needs some willing volunteers for an emergency exercise to test the venue’s safety procedures in preparation for the new season and next month’s (April) curtain-raiser on April 5/6.
Volunteers must be available from 10:00 on Friday, April 4, which is the test day for the British Automotive Racing Club (BARC) race meeting, and will be required to sit in the grandstand for long periods.
Playing the role of spectators, they will be asked to follow the steward’s instructions, who will be putting Rockingham’s safety procedures into practice during a number of scenarios including the emergency evacuation of the grandstand.
Rockingham’s Head of Operations, Cat Lund said: “It’s important we check our stewarding and spectator safety procedures every year. In order to help us do this, we need some willing volunteers to pretend to be spectators.
“In return everyone who comes along will be able to watch testing for the BARC race meeting and will receive a pair of free tickets to come back and watch some of the best British Club racing.”
