March 16th Scunthorpe Lincolnshire

After a break of around 6 months, the 2014 Putoline 4 Hour series gets underway on March 16th at Kirton in Lindsey near Scunthorpe in Lincolnshire.

The massive 600 acre quarry based venue course will have a little bit of everything in it, woodland trails, quarry tracks, combined with climbs and descents in and over old spoil heaps left behind from many years of quarrying. The day starts at 9am sharp with the Putoline 2 hour Youth event which caters for Youth Solo riders. After a short break for the Presentation and results of the Youth event, it will be the turn of the Adults to start the marathon Putoline 4 hour event. A Le Mans style start will see riders running a short distance before leaping onto bikes and ripping into turn one.

Team riders can ride on their own machine or share one bike, both riders on the same race number. Next to the pits area is a "Change Over" area where one rider waits for his team mate to come in and "tag" him so he can then go out on track. This allows riders to take a well earned break and cheer on their partner, or make vital repairs and adjustments while their team mate is out clocking up the laps.

Solo Ironman riders simply start and ride solo for the full 4 hours...are you strong enough for the Putoline 4 hour challenge?? The Putoline 4 Hour events have a great atmosphere, it's a brilliant day out for the family too, so don't miss it! Non-members are more than welcome.

Day licenses available. You can pre-book and prepay to save money, or pay on the day. Camping is available from Saturday March 15th at 1pm and NO sooner. This is due to the movement of quarry vehicles until that time.
