Rent4Ring Racing Season Preview‏

Rent4Ring Racing made a name for itself whilst competing in the 2013 VLN Championship. Racing in its debut year, the team of Fredy Lienhard and Ralph Beck successfully won the V3 Class Championship with their Mazda MX-5. Now in 2014, the Swiss-born racing drivers will start through with a professional team and experts, running with different race cars in at least three different categories total.

The VLN Championship teams will meet for the first time this year for their pre-season testing at the Nurburgring at the coming weekend. Rent4Ring Racing is also returning to their place of glory, testing the renowned winning car Mazda MX-5 and the BMW 125i. Both cars will race again in the V3 and VT2 Class respectively. Last year’s driver, Dale Lomas, is confirmed as driver for the BMW 125i with Anthony Toll taking behind the wheel all season long. For Fredy and Ralph, the new season means starting with a new, exciting race car: BMW 428i F32 with a 2.0L 16V Turbo engine and 300hp.

´Ralph and I have been great fans of BMW for many years, so it was only natural for us to choose our new race car from the Munich manufacturer´, says Fredy Lienhard, who will race the BMW 428i alongside Ralph in the VLN Specials SP3T Class. ´I find the brand-new BMW 4 Series a very attractive car. I am convinced that the car features good genes and offers an excellent base. The core center is fairly low and the aerodynamic ideal for fast tracks. The Class SP3T is very competitive with approximately 20 cars on the grid, many of which are production cars. It will not only be really interesting to see the differences, but for us a steep learning curve. Our goal is to be able to compete within the Top-Five.´

In addition to the ten VLN Championship rounds, Rent4Ring Racing will take part in the legendary 24 hours race at the Nurburgring for the first time and also race in the Six Hour Classic run by the ADAC at the end of August.

´We all have set our goals and challenges high for this year, but most of all we want to set new standards, drive quick, have fun and learn a lot´, says Ralph Beck. ´My wish is to continually improve and grow as a team to ensure we achieve better results. We have a strong team and engaged people on board, who will all contribute immensely to our success.´

The VLN Season will officially start with the first round on 29th March 2014.
