Listerine sponsors a rally car in the UKs premier national rally championship - driven by Leeds based dentist Jack Cooke
As well as speed, the right look and the right protection make up the perfect formula for a winning rally team. One team in the Ancro Rally Championship is taking extra precautions to make sure they are fully protected - including their teeth and gums.
Listerine is sponsoring 'Team Knobblies' in the 2004 Ancro Rally Championship - made up of Leeds-based dentist and avid rally car driver Jack Cooke, and his co-driver brother Mike. Already used to being in pole position in the daily use mouthwash market, Listerine is bringing a burst of protection to the rally driving circuit.
"We are really proud to be associated with Listerine in this way," comments Jack Cooke, driver, Team Knobblies. "As a dentist, I have first hand experience of the brand and I know the importance of looking after my teeth and gums. This partnership with Listerine enables us to feel 100% reassured that we are adequately protected."
The fully branded Listerine rally car, a Subaru Impreza, can go from 0 to 100km/h in 5 seconds (on gravel) and can achieve a top speed of around 210km/h. Similarly, Listerine mouthwash's speed is equally impressive - it gets to work in 30 seconds reducing plaque bacteria by up to half (56%) than simply brushing alone. To make sure they are fully protected right down to their teeth and gums, the team will be 'slooshing' with Teeth and Gum Defence Listerine before every race.
Alison Pratt, Senior Brand Manager for Listerine is delighted with the partnership: "We are excited to announce our sponsorship of Team Knobblies. We are always keen to offer support to dental professionals but sponsorship within this rally championship is a totally new direction for our brand to support. As one of the leading contenders in the championship we are confident that we'll see Team Knobblies and the Listerine branded car being the first to pass the chequered flag!"A totally new direction for Listerine, the sponsorship deal will not only boost awareness of Listerine on the Rally rally-driving circuit, but will also help 'win the race' between a healthy mouth, plaque bacteria and gum disease.
After each race, Team Knobblies will be distributing free Listerine Actives (handy breath-freshening strips) to their fans and spectators.
