Tickets for Event 1 of the Monster Energy FIM Speedway World Cup at King’s Lynn on Saturday, July 26 are now on sale, and early-booking fans can save up to 25 percent.*
Team Great Britain have been drawn against old rivals Australia and the United States, plus the winner of the qualifying round at Terenzano on July 5, which features Italy, Germany, Slovenia and Russia.
The Lions will be led by new skipper and defending world champion Tai Woffinden, plus SGP star Chris Harris, while new team manager Alun Rossiter takes charge of his country in a world championship meeting for the first time.
The Aussies look set to provide stiff opposition in the form of 2012 world champion Chris Holder, Darcy Ward and Troy Batchelor, while double world champion Greg Hancock spearheads the American assault.
Fans who book standing tickets before April 30 can enjoy an early-booking discount of up to 25 percent, with standing tickets priced at £15 for adults and £10 for OAPs and under-15s. A family ticket – admitting two adults and two under-15s – is also available for £35.
BSI Speedway managing director Paul Bellamy said: “With the British leg of the Monster Energy SWC switching from its usual Monday slot to Saturday evening, we hope even more fans will be able to make the trip to the Norfolk Arena and witness some world-class racing.
“Team GB have been energised by Tai’s success in the FIM Speedway Grand Prix series. Chris Harris has also regained his World Championship spot for this year and will be determined to deliver for his country once again.
“But they will have to be at their best. Darcy and Troy are both former King’s Lynn riders, Chris takes some beating there and Greg led the Americans to a famous third place at King’s Lynn last season.
“The British fans always produce a sensational atmosphere there and we hope it will be even bigger this summer.”
