Four-time world champ handed Mitas Finnish FIM Speedway Grand Prix wild card

KYLMAKORPI FLIES FINNISH FLAG

Four-time FIM Long Track World Champion Joonas Kylmakorpi has been named by the SGP Commission as the wild card for the first-ever Mitas Finnish FIM Speedway Grand Prix at Tampere’s Ratina Stadium on May 17.

Kylmakorpi dons the famous No.16 race jacket for his fourth speedway World Championship appearance and his first in 10 years.

He raced in the 2003 Scandinavian SGP at Ullevi Stadium in Gothenburg and the 2003 and 2004 Norwegian SGPs in Hamar.

But it’s on the long track stage where Kylmakorpi has claimed his place in history, becoming the first rider ever to win the world long track title four years in a row from 2010 to 2013.

Kylmakorpi has vast experience throughout Europe’s major leagues and lines up for Eastbourne in the British Elite League, Swedish Elitserien club Dackarna and Latvian team Daugavpils, who compete in the Polish First Division.

And he will be determined to put on a big performance as he rides in the biggest speedway event ever staged on Finnish shale.

Tickets for the inaugural Mitas Finnish FIM Speedway Grand Prix on May 17 are available via www.speedwaygp.com or www.lippupalvelu
