Regalia and SFIF1 Team focus on GP2 season opener

The Argentinean driver was happy at the end of the second and final GP2 collective test taking place in Bahrain despite engine issues on day 3.

Facu Regalia completed his off-season training in GP2 after a three-day test taking place at Bahrain last week behind the wheel of his SFIF1 GP2 Team Dallara GP2/11

RRegalia ccompleted 43 laps on Day 1 needing a short learning period as he never raced before at this track-, the young Argentinean ace finished 13th. The day was positive even though some set-up changes did not work as expected.

Then, on Thursday, Regalia was second for much of the second test session in the afternoon and was pleased with long runs pace. On the final day engine issues prevented Regalia from improving his final time of 1:40.446.

Over the three days Regalia completed 155 laps in Bahrain.

He summarized his preseason explaining:

“The team needs to sort out the engine problem, but we gathered a lot of information in Abu Dhabi and Bahrain, so we are confident. When we have trouble-free sessions, both Daniel and I were among fastest drivers, so I think our team is rather strong. It is really important to solve this engine problem because we need to start the season in a good way. The work undertaken during testing days was very good and I am very happy and confident trusting in our chances. I would like to thank my fans his support and hopefully our season start will be that good”
