Bad luck takes the shine of some pacey performances for Oli Norris in WSK Super Masters

ADD Motorsports driver Oli Norris remained upbeat despite a frustrating weekend in the WSK Super Masters Series.

The Glastonbury racer has seen a run of bad luck prevent him from the podiums that his performances have deserved so far this season.

And this week was no different, as despite some quick times, kart problems stopped him reaching his full potential in the final.

He said: “I’ve had my fair share of bad luck this season. It has seemed like all the really unusual things that can go wrong have.

“We’re not sure what the problem was this week, but I went from some of the fastest times to being way off the pace for no reason.

“It’s frustrating, but the team have been amazing and it’s just one of those things.

“Hopefully a some better results are just around the corner. I’m driving well and have been pretty fast, so I hope I have some better luck and start getting the podiums we believe I can soon.”

Oli finished in fourth, fifth and sixth in his heats – again showing the consistency he has been early on in weekends, this season.

However, he was hit and spun in the pre-final leaving him unable to finish higher than 15th.In the final, despite having topped the timesheets in the morning practice, he was some three seconds off the pace, leaving him with an impossible task to get anywhere near the lead drivers.

He added: “The rain was ridiculous in the final, as bad as I’ve seen. “But even so, to be that far off the pace we knew something just wasn’t right.

“It’s frustrating, but you have to be philosophical about these things and know sometimes things are just our of your power.

“Hopefully we’ll be able to put it right next time out.”
