Trident GP3 pre season test report

23 - VICTOR CARBONE

These first two test days have shown Victor debuting on a European circuit driving a GP3 car.The first day was dedicated to having the driver becoming familiar with the one-seater but was conditioned by a small problem with the engine that was promptly resolved and the heavy afternoon rain which gave him the possibility to test on a wet track. The second day was concentrated on the search for performance obtaining excellent chronometric feedback above all in the second half of the session.

Best Result: P13 on Day 2 PMBest Timing on Day1: 1.32.907 - P21 AM & P16 PMBest Timing on Day2: 1.29.921 - P22 AM & P13

DRIVER's QUOTE:

The GP3 car is really something else. The braking power and the Gs that the car can pull is far beyond of what I was used to in the USA. It was a tough two day practice as we experienced problems with the engine and gearbox the two days. With the rain we pretty much only had clean laps the second day in the afternoon. The important thing is that we are progressing, and there is still much more to come. This afternoon I felt much more comfortable with the car, and have a better understanding of how the Pirelli tires work.

24 - ROMAN DE BEER

Starting from the first day with Roman, we worked on the seach for the fast lap in preparation for qualifying. Roman has already participated in the post-season tests in Abu Dhabi last November which allowed the Team to prepare the car on the basis of his driving needs. The work carried out was surely positive and we were able to remain constant in the Top 10 for both days closing the last afternoon session in P4.

Best Result: P4 on Day 2 PMBest Timing on Day1: 1.30.029 - P6 AM & P22Best Timing on Day2: 1.29.276 - P10 AM & P4

DRIVER's QUOTE:

First of all i would like to thank the team for a fantastic job under the new team manager and drivers. It was pretty difficult in the tricky conditions to learn the track and get as much information as possible. I am very happy as we were strong in both conditions and didn't have to make big changes to the car. I am sure we will move forward as we finish our tests ahead of the first round. Thank you to everyone for the support and the Almighty!!

25 - NELSON MASON

The work carried out by the team on Nelson's car was aboveall focused on the driver becoming familiar with the car and circuit. These two tests in Estoril have indeed represented his debut in the GP3 category. Nelson in any case has demonostrated a great sensibility to the alterations made to the car and this has allowed him to adapt the set-up always more to his driving style improving the performance.

Best Result: P11 on Day 1 AMBest Timing on Day1: 1.30.339 - P11 AM & P20 PMBest Timing on Day2: 1.29.935 - P14 AM & P14

DRIVER's QUOTE:

I am really happy to be given the oppurtunity to run with Trident in the GP3 Test. It was an amazing experience, the team and engineers worked tirelessly to get me up to speed with the car. The car was amazing, and with some more experience with the Pirelli tires I am extremely confident we will be battling at the front!
