Iveco extends as MotoGP sponsor

Dorna Sports, the commercial rights holder of the MotoGP world championship, has struck a deal with Iveco ahead of the second race of the 2014 series next month.

Iveco, the Italian commercial vehicle company, will continue as the official truck and commercial vehicle supplier to the series this year. As part of its commitment, it will provide organisers with a total of 13 trucks and vans to transport equipment to and from races.

In return, Iveco will have branding at numerous corners on circuits throughout this year’s race calendar, which continues at the Circuit of the Americas in Texas on 13th April.

“We are extremely pleased about the renewed cooperation with IVECO for another year,” said Pau Serracanta, the managing director of Dorna’s Commercial Area.

“Its support allows us to move MotoGP from one side of the world to the other, making Iveco one of the cornerstones of this championship. Dorna and Iveco have been working together for many years now, and this new agreement not only shows what a fruitful cooperation it is, but also paves the way for future opportunities.”

A new addition to Iveco’s relationship with Dorna this year will also see the company serve as an official supplier to the Team VR46 Moto3 outfit, which was created by motorcycling great Valentino Rossi
