Italian helmet manufacturer Stilo to support BRDC F4 drivers

Following Jolyon Palmer’s switch to Stilo helmets for his GP2 title chasing campaign with DAMS, leading manufacturer Stilo has agreed to a proposal from MSV CEO Jonathan Palmer to become the exclusive helmet partner of the BRDC F4 Championship. As part of this, Stilo is now offering a very exclusive price of up to 50% discount on a range of helmets to all 2014 BRDC F4 drivers.

The Italian Stilo company was founded in 1999 and initially developed industry-leading technology World Rally Championship helmets, as still worn by nine times WRC Champion Sébastien Loeb. Evolution into other forms of top level international motorsport has followed, from the world of GP2 with Jolyon Palmer and several other leading drivers to NASCAR’s Dale Earnhardt Jr.

The helmets on offer, from the ST4 F and ST4 FN range, comply with the latest safety standards and are fitted with the latest FIA 8858-2010 HANS posts. The Stilo 8860 models meet F1 and all world championship requirements and are also the lightest helmets in the world at this specification. The FIA standard 8860 helmets are available at an extra 25% discount provided they are ordered and paid for by 11 April 2014.

Jolyon Palmer has changed to Stilo helmets for his 2014 GP2 campaign with DAMS and is delighted with his move: “I’m pleased to switch to Stilo Helmets for 2014. The helmet is the lightest available which makes a real difference, yet spacious and very comfortable to wear. I think it looks great and the cleaning and visor preparation service from Stilo at the Grands Prix where we race is excellent.”

MSV Chief Executive Jonathan Palmer added: “I have been most impressed with Stilo. It is a dedicated family-owned and driven business and they care passionately about developing the very best helmets available. Jolyon is thrilled with his so I was eager for our BRDC F4 drivers to have awareness and availability. Following a meeting with the Stilo owners I am delighted that they have seen the potential of the young talent in BRDC F4 and are happy to provide this remarkable discount, confident that once experienced, the drivers will keep with Stilo on their path towards F1.”

Furthermore, should the winner of the 2014 BRDC F4 Championship be a Stilo customer, they will receive a free top of the range 8860 helmet for use in 2015.

All orders come with a free of charge bespoke fitting service at Nicky Grist Motorsports Ltd in Herefordshire. To qualify for the discount, all driver helmets will need to carry the Stilo logos.
