Petroball complete driver line-up with USA karter Dan Roeper for F4 2014

The Brazilian Petroball team have confirmed 17-year-old American Dan Roeper as their second driver for the 2014 BRDC F4 season, joining Gaetano di Mauro at the Milton Keynes-based squad.

Roeper, from Garden City, New York, is the current South Florida Rotax champion and has been karting for four years at both national and international level. USA is the tenth different nation to be represented in the 2014 BRDC F4 Championship.

He was classified fifth in the US Rotax Grand Nationals in the Senior Max category in 2013 while also taking the South Florida Rotax Max Championship, a title he also claimed in 2012.

He has already enjoyed success in 2014 by finishing second overall in the Florida Winter Tour with one win and an additional two podium finishes.

Dan also has some experience in a race car, having tested a F2000 machine on three occasions, although the opening F4 round at Silverstone on 26/27 April will be his first race in a single seater.

The American is coached by racer Oswaldo Negri, who competed in British F3 for two seasons starting in 1991 and was a winner of the Daytona 24 Hours in 2012 alongside A.J. Allmendinger, John Pew and Justin Wilson.

Roeper commented: “In my first year of the series I hope to learn as much as possible and be able to challenge for some strong results throughout the season!”

Team Principal Jose Roberto Sabathe is delighted to complete his driver line-up for his team’s first season in the BRDC F4 Championship: “I’m really pleased to be able to confirm Dan Roeper at the team for the 2014 season alongside Gaetano di Mauro. Dan has an excellent record in karting despite only competing for a few seasons and I’m sure he will progress well as the season goes on. It’s great to complete the Petroball Racing line-up for the 2014 season and together with our Technical Manager Andy Miller I’m sure we are going to be surprising a lot of people this year!”
