DNA Tuning Becomes Official Partner Of Clio Cup Road Series

Competitors in the entry-level Michelin Clio Cup Road Series are to benefit from enhanced parity of performance for the category’s second season, which gets underway this weekend at Rockingham, with engine mapping specialist DNA Tuning becoming an official partner of the championship.

On the eve of the opening two rounds of 2014, Road Series organisers are delighted to confirm the vastly experienced Bidford-on-Avon business will be responsible for the re-mapping of ECUs for each of the race-converted Clio Renaultsport 197 roadcars on the grid.

Additionally, experts from DNA Tuning will be on-hand at each of the six Michelin Clio Cup Road Series race meetings – ensuring the championship’s level playing field is further enhanced with rigorous policing of the ECUs.

Owned and run by racing driver John Robins, a former competitor in the Production Touring Car Trophy, DNA Tuning has more than 25 years’ experience in producing and supplying ECUs and the business is a leading supplier of software for many of the tuning industry’s most well-known brands.

“We have spent all winter looking for the right tuning partner to come on-board with the Road Series to help maintain the level playing field the championship prides itself upon”, said category promoter Simon North, “Having a designated engine map in every car will be a major asset to the competitors and it is a bonus to have a partner that will also add to our promotion.”

Already enjoying a strong presence in UK motorsport, DNA Tuning’s arrival in the Michelin Clio Cup Road Series is another important step for the category which was established last year as the first rung on Renaultsport UK’s three-tier saloon car racing ladder.

“We’re absolutely delighted to have become involved as an official partner of the Michelin Clio Cup Road Series and thoroughly looking forward to the first event of the season this weekend”, said DNA Tuning owner Robins, “Re-mapping all of the ECUs for cars in the Road Series will only enhance the parity which each of Renault’s championships have been built on over many years.”

Qualifying for the first two races of the 2014 Michelin Clio Cup Road Series will take place on Saturday, 5th April, at 10.55. On Sunday, 6th April, round one will get underway at 10.50 with round two scheduled to start at 15.10.

Along with headline sponsors Michelin and Protyre, the Clio Cup Series is additionally supported by Ferodo and Safety Devices. The Michelin Clio Cup Road Series is also backed by DNA Tuning.
