Jewson backs Isuzu D Max in British Cross Country campaign

Team named ‘Jewson Isuzu D-Max Rally Team’

Final vehicle livery unveiled ahead of weekend debut

Jewson, the UK’s leading supplier in timber and building materials, has been confirmed as the official partner for Isuzu’s entry into the 2014 Britpart MSA British Cross Country Championship (BCCC), which kicks off this weekend (12-13 April) at Myherin, Wales.

Competing in Class 1B of the six-series championship, Isuzu will race its award-winning D-Max pick-up, with the team officially named ‘Jewson Isuzu D-Max Rally Team’. The multi-year partnership will see Jewson logos displayed prominently at every event on the pick-up’s new livery and on team apparel.

The Isuzu racer will be driven by former British Rally Championship contender, Jason Sharpe, and co-piloted by his nephew, Russell Sharpe.

Haydn Davies, Marketing Director at Isuzu UK, commented: “Jewson’s sponsorship of Isuzu’s entry in the BCCC is part of a wide-ranging partnership between the two brands. Isuzu is starting to grow its sales and reputation within the construction sector with the multi-award-winning D-Max and partnering with Jewson was the next logical step as we look to strengthen our position in new markets for the brand.”

The BCCC is the country’s premier domestic off-road racing championship, consisting of six two-day competitive rallies across Scotland and Wales. Class 1B mandates a maximum engine capacity of 2,500 cc and restricts motorsport enhancements. This will ensure that the rally Isuzu will retain many characteristics of the standard D-Max.
