Villorba Corse Pro-Am Cup debut in Blancpain Endurance Series

The Italian team is ready for the first round of the championship to be held in Monza on April 13 and lines up Castellacci, Gai and Rizzoli behind the wheel of their Ferrari 458

Treviso (Italy), April 9, 2014. Villorba Corse “racing with Ferrari” team will make its debut in the GT3 and Blancpain GT Series worlds next weekend at Monza. The Italian squad led by Raimondo Amadio will enter a Ferrari 458 in the Pro-Am category of the 2014 Blancpain Endurance Series for Francesco Castellacci, Stefano Gai and Andrea Rizzoli.

On home soil the whole team is immediately called to a very demanding challenge. Castellacci, Gai and Rizzoli, who are young but experienced enough to race in a very competitive international series such as BES, will face not less than forty rival GT cars, twenty of them to fight for Pro-Am Cup first points of the season.

“We are all working to deal with this debut in the best way - says Amadio, Team Principal -. We are starting this very challenging commitment in order to be consistent since the beginning and bring home some points. Anything can happen in endurance championships and races. During the winter we updated our 458 GT3. That allows us to be quite optimistic on track performances. It is a pity that we had not much time to test this development but BES format can help us to quickly recover the gap. Our young crew is a very good combination of speed and talent. They can allow the team to be competitive throughout the season. Monza opens a new page in Villorba Corse history and we are all very happy with this new achievement, which will be the start of a new adventure.”

After Friday's technical scrutineering, Villorba Corse will get on track on Saturday, April 12 for free and pre qualifyng practice sessions at 9:00 and at 12:10 (7:00 and 10:10 GMT). Qualifying practice is scheduled at 17:20 (15:20 GMT), while the three-hour endurance race will take place at 14:45 (12:45 GMT) on Sunday, April 13. BES weekend at Monza will be broadcasted (live, deferred and highlights) worldwide on many TV channels and on www.blancpain-gt-series.com (clicking on GT TV).
