Spedeworth International brings the curtain down on the summer racing season at Wimbledon with a night of automotive madness featuring the Rookie Bangers 6 a side team racing, plus the Stock Rods on Bank Holiday Sunday May 30 at 6pm.
The Rookie Bangers will be going all out to claim the team championship on the night, but the drivers will have to work extra hard to be the first under the chequered flag as they will be competing in a series of events designed to test their nerves and their car's strength.
The intrepid Banger pilots will have to take part in an in-line chained pairs event, with the cars linked to each other with hefty chains, and attempt to make their way round the Plough Lane circuit without parting company from each other, while removing the opposition from their racing line. Formula 1 does not have as much action in a full season as the chained Bangers provide in one race.
To add to the automotive lunacy on the night the Rookie Bangers will have to brave a ramp rollover contest, in which the drivers power around the track and then hit the ramp on the home straight, getting airborne and rolling their cars to destruction in pursuit of points for their team.
The Rookie Bangers will be joined on the night by the non-contact Stock Rods. This budget formula allows people who want to compete in motor sport the chance to do so without breaking the bank balance and results in large grids of cars on race night. Budget price it may be, but the Stock Rod formula delivers top quality racing action, which will be further enhanced on bank holiday Sunday when the cars take part in a 40 lap Le Mans style race.
With a night of all-action racing in store, plus the jaw-dropping ramp roll over event, Spedeworth will ensure that the Summer season's racing closes with a real bang at Wimbledon Stadium, Britain's finest stock car racing circuit.
