Easytracks June/July hot laps

It's summer, the road ahead is clear and it's time to floor that gas pedal - not on the caravan-clogged, camera-ridden and nose-to-tail UK lanes, but on some of the UK and Europe's greatest race circuits.

Easytrack, the UK's biggest track day organiser will take drivers to ten race circuits on fourteen dates this June and July.

For those unfamiliar with track days, each is an all-day opportunity to get away from traffic congestion and speed cameras and fine-tune, hone or discover driving skills - and experience the full capabilities of their own car. No special driving licences are required - however, a standard UK licence is essential.

Meanwhile, for track day regulars - about 6,000 in the UK, and Easytrack has 11,500 members - it's more opportunities to rack up those miles.

June 1 - Oulton Park, Cheshire.June 5 - Bruntingthorpe, Leicestershire.June 6 - Brands Hatch Indy (short circuit), Kent.June 9 - Snetterton, Norfolk.June 12 - Elvington, Yorkshire.June 24 - Brands Hatch Grand Prix (long circuit), Kent.July 3 - Elvington, Yorkshire.July 6 - Goodwood, West Sussex.July 10 - Oulton Park, Cheshire.July 17 - EASYTRACK INTERNATIONAL, Le Mans Bugatti, France.July 18 - EASYTRACK INTERNATIONAL, Le Mans Bugatti, France.July 19 - Brands Hatch Indy, Kent.July 20 - EASYTRACK INTERNATIONAL, Dijon Prenais, France.July 31 - Bruntingthorpe, Leicestershire.

"Track days are growing massively in popularity, so they also need to be professionally-run and tightly organised - and they need to cater for petrolheads with every level of budget, ability and experience," said Marcus Thomas, MD of Easytrackday Events UK Limited.

"There is no racing and no overtaking without consent, but that does not mean drivers do not get the opportunity to enjoy some speed. Everybody is briefed fully, and first aid, safety rules and marshalling are as they would be for a motor race. There will also be instructors on hand.

"We have 11,500 members and the highest membership participation level in the UK. Our members are statistically amongst the safest people with whom to share a racetrack, with consistently fewer incidents and therefore more track time.

"Our members are also on average slightly older than with most other track day organisers, and there is a genuinely enthusiastic club attitude and approach. It doesn't matter whether the car they're strapping on is a £200,000 supercar or a £2,000 hot hatch, the interaction amongst ET-ers is fantastic.

"We welcome members who know their limits and their cars' limits, and who recognise that they can have a tremendously rewarding experience by adhering to the safety-based rules and regulations we apply. Having said that, they're amongst people who really don't mind - and, in fact, encourage - red lining their motors and getting those tyres howling."
