Castle Combe to welcome over 1500 performance cars this Saturday

Castle Combe Circuit will be hosting its first Action Day of 2014 this Saturday 26th April and over 1500 performance cars are already booked to  attend!

Castle Combe introduced the Action Day formula with the Kit Cars and Specials Action Day back in September 1985 and since then, it has been going from strength to strength!

Director of Castle Combe Action Days, Karen Marshallsay, confirmed: "Action Days are a unique blend of Car Show and Track Day offering visitors a great opportunity not only to view hundreds of cars off track in the Owner's Clubs displays but also on track with the regular 15-minute track sessions throughout the day.

"Our Circuit rally school team, Dynamic Drivers, will be available on the day to take visitors on hot laps of the Castle Combe rally course whilst our friends at the Drift Battles will be performing synchronised, smoke infused drifting demonstrations on the circuit with sessions both late morning and mid-afternoon. FCM Motorsport meanwhile have kindly offered to take visitors on hot laps of the circuit throughout the day with all monies going to the Bristol Children's Hospital Charity, Wallace &Gromit's Grand Appeal. Add in the trade area and more and there really is plenty for our visitors to watch and get involved with!"

Gates for the event open at 7am when Owner's Clubs and Trade arrive and start their site build. There are a couple of competitions running through the day including 'Best Car in Show' and 'Best Club Stand' and Owner's Clubs are encouraged to go that extra mile to make their area and cars stand out from the crowd.

The track opens at 9am with regular 15-minute track sessions running until 4.45pm. Many sessions are already fully booked although some will still be available on the day for anyone wishing to test their car and driving skills out on an international race circuit. Standard track day regulations apply and full details can be found on the website or by contacting the circuit during normal office hours.

Castle Combe Circuit will be running five Action Days in 2014. The Spring Performance Car Action Day (Saturday 26th April) and the Forge Motorsport Performance Car Action Day (Saturday 13th September) are both dedicated to the performance car whilst Saturday 28th June celebrates all things Classic and Retro with anything from vintage buses to classic cars on display.

KitFest is new for 2014 (Saturday 19th July) whilst the MiniWorld Action day on Saturday 27th September is always the last Action Day of the season and is bound to bring out the crowds for this ever popular little car.
