A victory in Saturday’s non-points sprint was bookended by an overall and class win in Friday night’s featured Stuttgart Cup/Mission Foods GT3 Challenge and a class victory in Sunday afternoon’s Hawk Performance Historic Prototype one-hour race. Lopez-Santini even cracked the top-10 overall in the Hawk race, sharing the top end of the finishing order with the winning Pescarolo-Judd LMP, an Audi R8 LMP, Porsche 962, Lola-Caterham SP300R, two Riley & Scott Mk IIIs and several big-bore Mustang Trans-Am race cars.Bill Riddell joined Lopez-Santini in sweeping the weekend’s points races in The Stuttgart Cup™ and also wrapped up the inaugural Stuttgart Cup Winter Series title in his black and white-striped No. 05 Cayman S. Riddell took Stuttgart Cup class honors in Friday night’s Challenge, the only Cayman competitor to hit the top-10 in that race behind a solid field of GT3 Cup and RSR Porsches.Riddell also finished an impressive third overall in a field of 32 race cars in Sunday morning’s Hawk Performance GT one-hour race, taking Stuttgart Cup honors and the Winter Series title in the process. He shared the top step of the podium with Matt Dicken and his coach and co-driver, John Lewis, who co-drove Dicken’s silver and black No. 207 Cayman S to both the Pro-Am class race win and that division’s Stuttgart Cup Winter Series championship.The Mitty represented both the finale of the five-race Stuttgart Cup Winter Series – that included 2013 races at Savannah Hutchinson Island, Daytona International Speedway and Sebring International Raceway and rounds this year at Palm Beach and this weekend at Road Atlanta – and the kick-off to the 2014 Stuttgart Cup/Mission Foods GT3 season. The 2014 schedule next includes races at Autobahn Country Club near Chicago, June 6 – 7, Pocono Raceway, August 14 – 17, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, September 19 - 21 and one additional event in July to be announced. The eight-race calendar also includes what have become traditional season-ending races at Savannah, Daytona and Sebring in October, November and December, respectively.This weekend’s other winner at The Mitty was Keith Faver who edged Riddell for his first Stuttgart Cup victory in his No. 25 Gulf/Wyer Porsche-themed Cayman S in Saturday’s sprint. The win capped a perfect podium weekend for Faver who finished third in both Friday’s Challenge and Sunday’s one-hour.Dicken had his best Stuttgart Cup weekend, earning a 1-2-3 podium cycle and his first series pole position. In addition to his Sunday Pro-Am win with Lewis, Dicken qualified first for the Challenge, finished second in that race and earned third-place honors in the Saturday sprint.Also making it to The Stuttgart Cup podium was the father-and-son duo of Joe Sullivan and Joey Sullivan who finished second in Sunday’s one-hour in their No. 14 Cayman S that carries the livery of the famous Lowenbrau/Holbert Racing Porsche 962s. Saturday Stuttgart Cup qualifying produced an unexpected pole winner in debuting series driver Dominique LeQueux who took the top spot in his red No. 30 Cayman S that pays tribute to the MOMO Porsche 935 and 962 race cars.Frank Beck won the Mission Foods GT3 pole for Friday’s Challenge and finished second behind Lopez-Santini in that race and Saturday’s sprint in his No. 25 Porsche GT3 Cup.Juan Gonzalez also earned a pair of Mission Foods GT3 podiums, finishing third in the Saturday sprint and second in Sunday’s one-hour in his No. 80 Porsche GT3 Cup. Other Mission Foods GT3 podium players were Marius Avemarg, who finished third in his No. 027 Porsche GT3 Cup, in Friday’s Challenge, and Jeffrey Freeman who was third in the one-hour in his No. 161 Porsche GT3 Cup.Next up for The Stuttgart Cup/Mission Foods GT3 Cup Trophy USA by Car Amigo is Round 2 of 2014’s eight-race schedule at Autobahn Country Club, June 6 – 7.
