Isaac Tutumlu eyes European GT title fight

Isaac Tutumlu and Barzani Racing Team are heading to the first round of the International GT Open, where they fought for wins and podiums in GTS class throughout the season last year. This year they are eying the European GT title and Tutumlu will team up with Matteo Beretta driving an Autorlando Sport Porsche 997 GT3 R.

Last year Tutomlu took the Spanish Iber GT title, the first Kurdish driver ever winning an international championship in motorsport for Kurdistan, and he arrives in Germany ready for a fresh Challenge as now he will participate in Super GT, the leading class in the series and battling against a large number of professional drivers.

“For us, the European campaign kicks off at Nürburgring, a new motorsport adventure because of despite of it is the same championship we will participate in Super GT. We have upgraded and improved our car and my teammate, Matteo, is rather quick, young and eager of getting the best results. Our preseason work was good, we carried out two test days and, especially at Mugello, we were quick. Our sectors were pretty competitive and hold great promise for this year”, Tutumlu explains.

“The entry list looks quote strong, proving how the championship is growing and TV coverage is amazing once again. It is important to have a good start. I like Nürburgring, and rain is always quite possible there. I am quite fast in rain conditions and Porsche-built cars work well too on wet track. There are medium and fast corners and they are a good thing for our car. We eye top-places. I would like to thank my sponsors again their support, particularly Barzani family, Ster Group and Golden Eagle global."
