Returning to the Kumho National Rally Championship for round four of the series, Dorian Rees is determined to keep the Subrau flag flying among the see of Mitsubishi's on the Mutiny National Rally, which takes place Saturday 5th June 2004.
The Llanybydder driver having already claimed second place and an outright class win in the Production GroupN series, the West Wales driver is keen to keep his championship aspirations alive on the Builth Wells based event.
"Having put in two strong results we know we have the speed for the series and will be ready for a good fight with Brendan Crealey, the class leader. We have had close competition on the two opening rounds, losing out to him on the first and letting him eat our dust on round two. We will have to wait and see the outcome of round four on Saturday."
While others in the series headed to the Isle of Man for round three, Rees and his co-driver, Patrick Walsh have contested the first two rounds of the Kwik Fit/Pirelli British Rally Championship and currently lead the Production class in that series driving their Subaru Impreza WRX.
In preparation for his National Rally Championship return, Rees has completed many miles of tests at a venue in South Wales to ensure he has the best of starts.
"The test allowed us to use some different settings to prepare for the Mutiny and the Scottish a week later. We were not happy with the set up of the car on the Rally of Wales, but the new set up seems to give more stability and additional speed. It should benefit us for both events and hopefully give us the edge over the opposition in Wales and Scotland."
The rally gets underway at 8.30am Saturday with nine competitive timed special stages in Radnor, Crychan, Halfway and Twyi.
