First 50 entries for Severn Valley Stages‏

The 2014 Severn Valley Stages (Saturday 31 May) moved past an important landmark yesterday (6 May) when the 50th entry arrived, two and a half weeks ahead of the closing date of 23 May.Now, the event organisers have set an ambitious target of doubling the entry to 100 cars for the 41st running of this famous event. The event is a round of the West Wales Rally Spares R.A.C. Rally Championship, the Pirelli MSA Welsh Stage Rally Championship and the Brian Dennis Motorsport Welsh Historic Rally Championship. The rally will once again be based at the Royal Welsh Showground at Builth Wells.“We’re delighted to have taken our 50th entry and we’d love to see that figure double by the time the rally starts,” said Secretary of the Meeting Steven Tibbetts. “We’d be very pleased to have 90 cars and 100 entries would be brilliant. We’d like to thank all those who have entered to date for their support.”The event’s closing date for entries of Friday 23 May has been set to allow Pirelli MSA Welsh contenders competing on the Plains Rally on 17 May to wait until after that event before entering the Severn Valley.Midland Manor Motor Club has refreshed and re-branded the Severn Valley Stages for 2014 and will deliver a competitor-focused event offering 44 stage miles for £475. The route will take in special stages in Cefn, Crychan and Halfway forests, and both Cefn and Halfway will not have been used for 10 months by the time of the 31 May rally.The Regulations and Entry Form can be downloaded from www.severnvalleystages.co.uk
