JMW Motorsport announce Le Mans line up

Abdulaziz Alfaisal, Seth Neiman and Spencer Pumpelly to drive the JMW Motorsport Ferrari 458 in the 2014 Le Mans 24 Hours

JMW Motorsport is thrilled to announce their driver line up for the 2014 Le Mans 24 Hours. Behind the wheel of the Ferrari 458 contesting the LM GTE Am class will be Abdulaziz Alfaisal (KSA), Seth Neiman (USA) and Spencer Pumpelly (USA).

This marks the fifth Le Mans outing for Jim McWhirter’s JMW Motorsport outfit, which has proven to be a firm fan favourite.

It is a welcome return to the JMW Motorsport fold for Abdulaziz Alfaisal who was a great member the team’s 2013 Le Mans 24 Hour driver line up. 2014 will mark Alfaisal’s fourth outing at the iconic race.

From ‘across the pond’ the team are looking forward to welcoming Seth Neiman and Spencer Pumpelly both Le Mans returnees. Indeed, it is Spencer’s third time and an amazing ninth Le Mans outing for Seth but both share the excitement of this being their first time at the wheel of a Ferrari GT.

Seth and Spencer are well known to the followers of Stateside Sportscar racing, having proved fantastically competitive with Flying Lizards with Eric Ingraham and Thomas Blam of the team also attending for support – well who can say no to Le Mans?!

This year also marks a change of ‘boots’ for JMW Motorsport who are sporting Michelins throughout their ELMS campaign and the Le Mans 24 Hours. With impressive pace in the team’s opening ELMS round and excellent tyre performance, JMW Motorsport are looking forward to taking their new Michelins around the clock!

Quotes:

Jim McWhirter, Team Principal

“I am delighted to welcome Seth, Spencer and Aziz into the JMW Family for Le Mans 2014. They are all former competitors at Le Mans, indeed Aziz drove extremely well for us in 2013 and it is a pleasure to welcome him back. Seth and Spencer bring loads of experience and I believe that with this driver line-up combined with our five years knowledge of Le Mans we can be very competitive against strong opposition.”

Tim Sugden, Team Manager

"I am really looking forward to the race now! Having signed a really great group of drivers I can’t wait to get to the test and work together, I have a really good feeling about it. This will be our 6th Le Mans as JMW and the desire to be on that podium is stronger than ever for everyone in the team. It’s so exciting to be working with Seth and Spencer and of course Aziz feels like part of the family already! Roll on June..."

Abdulaziz Alfaisal, Driver

"I look forward to competing again in Le Mans this year with JMW. We aim for a podium finish - to drive in Le Mans is a penultimate objective for every driver, let alone finish on the podium!"

 Seth Neiman, Driver

““I wasn’t sure I could find a way back to Le Mans after the class changes with the creation of TUSC. Missing last year – my first June home in nearly a decade – was no fun at all. Doing so with JMW and Ferrari promises to be a very competitive experience. We will miss our normal co-drivers from the States, Dion and Nelson, but Spencer’s Le Mans experience is irreplaceable for this effort. This is a strong team, a strong car, with great co-drivers. I am really looking forward to this effort with JMW”

Spencer Pumpelly, Driver

“I'm very excited to be returning to Le Mans. Seth and I have had great opportunities to win there in the past and hopefully we can make this the year we do it. I'm also looking forward to racing Ferrari for the first time in my career and while we’ll miss Dion and Nelson we’ll do our very best to represent them and the entire Flying Lizard organization in France at this great race”
