The two 50 minutes free practice sessions (Group A and B), topped by by Simon Gachet and Alessio Rovera
The Frenchman racing for Arta Engineering was at ease on his home track clocking an impressive 1’14.375 (fastest of the day). Behind him, with just over an half a second gap, the JD Motorsport driver Matevos Isaakyan. Quite an encouraging run for the young debuting Russian driver brought in the Series by the JD Motorsport team manager Roberto Cavallari. Good session also for Akash Nandy (Tech 1 Racing), who managed fourth ahead of the two Fortec Motorsports drivers Martin Kodric and Charles Leclerc.
The second session was affected by two red flags being waived for the mistake of the Championship leader Nyck De Vries, (third overall), and the TS Corse car of Pietro Peccenini, who clipped the rail with his rear tyre. Best time was set thus by the Italian Rovera (Cram Motorsport), who preceded Englishman George Russell (Koiranen GP). Alex Boask, Prema Powerteam, scored fourth.
Qualifying will be set for tomorrow at 9.40 with the two groups that will be involved in a single 30 minutes session each. Race 1 will start tomorrow afternoon at 16.52 while Race 2 is scheduled for Sunday morning at 9.27. As usual both races will last 25 minutes plus a lap.
