(SPEEDWAY 1 – MONDAY PREVIEW)
WOLVERHAMPTON boss Peter Adams says his side need to get some points on the board when they face Swindon at Monmore on Monday. The home side are looking to bounce back after defeats on the road to Birmingham and Lakeside – and they’ve been dropping points on their home circuit.Adams said: “We do need a victory on Monday because it's nearly a month now before we ride away from home again, and we need to get some points on the board starting against Swindon.“They will no doubt be buoyed by their victory at Coventry on Friday which I have to say came as a surprise to me. But we'll of course be looking for all three points so hopefully we can put in a good performance and make that happen.”Swindon hand a debut to Nathan Greaves at reserve, and boss Alun Rossiter said: “I want to see the confidence and momentum gained by Friday’s result carried forward into Monday.“It’s not going to be easy. We are facing the World Champion in Tai Woffinden who is showing signs of getting back to his best and I know Piotr Pawlicki and what he’s capable of, but we will go there in a confident mood after Friday and see what we can take from the meeting.”Belle Vue put their 100 per cent home record on the line when King’s Lynn visit Kirkmanshulme Lane, with the Stars already having notched two away wins this season.Aces star Scott Nicholls said: “Kings Lynn are a good outfit who will I'm sure prove to be stiff opposition, but we're proud to be undefeated at home and we're more determined than ever to hold on to our record. “The support of the Belle Vue fans when we ride at home is amazing and it's something all the boys, including myself, love to see.”The visitors bring in Davey Watt to guest for broken collarbone victim Kenneth Bjerre, and boss Rob Lyon said: “Davey is in-form at the moment and he was keen to help us out in place of Kenneth. He is a solid performer and I am sure he can do a good job for us.”In the National Trophy, Kent host Stoke at Central Park with the home side continuing to operate the rider-replacement facility for broken hand victim Benji Compton, whilst Danny Ayres deputises at reserve for Brandon Freemantle who also has a hand injury.

LEICESTER No.1 Jason Doyle is targeting a return to the saddle in time for the Lions’ next Elite League fixture at Swindon on May 22.Doyle was involved in an horrific crash on Saturday whilst representing the Australian team in a Best Pairs event in Landshut, Germany. He suffered concussion and initial fears were of a broken leg, but he has in fact escaped with a serious gash which required stitches.Leicester boss Norrie Allan said: “First and foremost Jason’s well-being is uppermost in our minds, and whilst we want him back in the side as quickly as possible we will not put any pressure on him to return.”
(SPEEDWAY 3)
GLASGOW reserve Anders Thomson suffered a suspected broken ankle in a crash during the Tigers’ abandoned Knockout Cup tie with Rye House.Thomsen slid into the fence after clipping the footrest of rival Jason Garrity in Heat 2 of the Ashfield match, which was called off following heavy rain after Heat 8. The Rockets led by two points but there will be a full re-staging.Glasgow boss Stewart Dickson said: “It’s not so good – it’s a suspected broken ankle for Anders and the paramedics seem pretty sure it is. It’s just very unfortunate, for him more than anyone else.“Now we will maybe need to look at a 28-day signing – one or maybe even two. Dimitri (Berge) has been a star and Anders was coming into form as well, so we’ve lost two of the top four riders on current form.”
