Scott Speed (USA) of the Andretti Autosport team has made a strong start to the Global Rallycross season. The former Formula One and NASCAR driver triumphed at the wheel of the Volkswagen Polo RX in Barbados, coming home ahead of Steve Arpin (CAN) and Brian Deegan (USA, both Ford). “What a fantastic weekend,” said the delighted 2013 X Games winner. “We had the right pace from start. The team did an amazing job right from the word go and set the car up perfectly for the race.” Speed’s team-mate Tanner Foust (USA) finished eleventh in the second Volkswagen Polo RX. The next round of the Global Rallycross season takes place in Austin, Texas (USA), on 07 June.
