Villorba Corse for a great Pro-Am fight in the Blancpain Endurance Series

The Italian team is ready for the second round of the championship to be held at Silverstone on May 25 and lines up Castellacci, Gai and Rizzoli behind the wheel of their Ferrari 458

Treviso (Italy), May 21, 2014. Scuderia Villorba Corse will be back in the Blancpain GT Series world next weekend at Silverstone straight after the Sprint Series commitments last Sunday at Brands Hatch. The Italian squad led by Raimondo Amadio will enter a Ferrari 458 in the Pro-Am category of the 2014 Blancpain Endurance Series second round for Francesco Castellacci, Stefano Gai and Andrea Rizzoli. The talented Villorba crew took second place after a thrilling comeback in the opening round at Monza. Now the whole team wants to confirm itself among the most competitive Pro-Am Cup contenders to keep on fighting for the title. But not an easy job is expected as on British soil Castellacci, Gai and Rizzoli will have to face not less than forty rival GT cars, 23 of them in Pro-Am.

“Endurance races are back - says Amadio, Team Principal - and we are working very hard to be back at the top of the standings. In past weeks we had a very busy time as all the 2014 commitments have kicked off. Now the middle part of the season will be very challenging. At Silverstone the main goal is to make no mistakes and to confirm the pace we have shown in Monza debut. It will be hard because this is a very demanding track where we have never raced with the GT3 version of our Ferrari before. However, our team is improving and that is why I am confident we can do very well.”

After Friday's technical scrutineering, Villorba Corse will get on track on Saturday, May 24 for free and pre qualifyng practice sessions. On Sunday, May 25 qualifying practice is scheduled at 8:00 (9:00 in the rest of Europe), while the three-hour endurance race will take place at 13:55 (14:55 in the rest of Europe). BES weekend at Silverstone will be broadcasted (live, deferred and highlights) worldwide on many TV channels and on www.blancpain-gt-series.com (clicking on GT TV).
