P2 - SERGIO CANAMASAS
The Monaco weekend closes with a deserved podium for Sergio Canamasas that was the author of an impeccable sprint race. Sergio took off from the 4th position, right after the first curve he had already surpassed Pic and Haryanto, putting himself right behind Richelmi. The race pace was always one of the best and the advantage on Haryanto that was chasing him was never less than two seconds. Sergio did not want to assume the risk in try to surpass Richelmi, but was left in vain hoping for an error in continuously putting him under pressure. The error never arrived but the result was important without a doubt not only for the driver but for the team as well that shortens the distance from general classification.

DRIVER's QUOTE:"Today I obviously very happy and this podium represents a huge award for me for the difficult period I have been undergoing. The race in Barcelona was a test for me having begun the championship in delay, but I never imagined to reach the podium so quickly above all on a track like Monaco. I began the race with a good start surpassing two cars that proceeded me and I tried to put pressure for the entire race hoping in Richelmi's error so that I could surpass him but he was really impeccable and I am in any case happy with regards to the work carried out. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Trident for this weekend really good team work."
P4 - JOHNNY CECOTTO
We all knew that the Sprint Race for Johnny would not have been easy since the race strategy used in the feature race would have certainly penalized the performance in Race2 but Johnny was a real fighter not leaving any space for him to be surpassed by his rivals and not making not even a small error. The start of the race was good and Cecotto quickly earned the 4th position that he never let go. The race pace with such old tires was really difficult but Johnny demonstrated all his perseverance and consistency.

DRIVER's QUOTE:"Another very positive fourth place and many important points for the championship. Today was a very difficult race because we had to start on used tires because we used both sets of prime tires in Race 1. So in the second part of the race we were struggling a lot for pace and a lot of other cars got very close, it was very difficult not to make a mistake with these old tires to not give them the chance to overtake me. All in all it was an unlucky weekend for us because everything that could go the wrong way went wrong but in the end it was very positive because we scored a lot of points and we are now third in the championship. I want to thank the team again because they are doing a great job and I feel very good with them."
