Stunt Sunday at Crail

Crail Raceway is hosting a stunt spectacular this Sunday (13th June 2004) as it welcomes some of Europe’s leading performers to showcase their skills to the thousands of spectators expected to attend the event covered by Fast Car magazine.

Terry Grant, one of Europe’s leading stunt drivers will be at Crail Raceway for the first time after a two week stint at he Birmingham motor show.  Signed by MG Rover to enhance their motor sport presence, Terry is now regularly seen at their high profile, race, corporate and media events, throughout the UK and Europe. 

Holding 11 world records, including leaving the driving seat, climbing over the roof and returning to his seat through the passenger window, twice in one minute, all while the car performs a donut, Grant is sponsored by BF Goodrich and Blackpool based sports car manufacturers TVR.  He is now recognized as one of the top stunt drivers in the world and will amaze crowds with his internationally acclaimed show, incorporating the 350 bhp TVR Tamora and Legend, 1937 Ford Sedan.

Appearing alongside Grant will be The UK Freestyle Motocross Revolution (UK FMX).  Riders include Gary Taylor - ranked second in the world IFMXF standings and currently the only rider in the UK to perform the 'back flip' 360 degree rotation in the air - and Sean Vukovic, a regular competitor in UK and European competitions, who will perform breathtaking technical stunts on take off ramps that propel the bikes 30 feet in the air.  Later in the day the Steer from the Rear Drift Display Team, will be at the oval for the first time at Crail.

As well as the run what you brung action on the ¼ mile drag strip, which takes place on the mile long runways of the 350 acre, WWII air base, there will be a number of static shows, and an indoor marquee with stalls and trade stands. Further entertainment will include a Radio Tay road show, entertainment from Equinox, as well as a burnout and drifting challenge. 

The only requirement to take part at Crail is a valid UK driving license, £10 for admission and a £15 signing-on fee, which entitles participants to unlimited runs. At the end of the day personal performance print-outs showing reaction times to the start lights, 60', 1/4 mile times, and top speed will be given out – personal times can be easily accessed through crailraceway.co.uk

Gates open 9.30am strip at 10am. The drag strip will remain open till 6pm followed by cruise action at the oval till 7pm. Adults £10:00, children £5:00
