1. IRL Confirms Aerodynamic Package For Remainder Of 2004:
IRL IndyCar® Series cars will continue to use the aerodynamic changes introduced at the Indianapolis 500 during the remainder of the 2004 season, league officials announced on June 2.
The quarter-inch vertical spine, designed to keep a spinning car from lifting off the track, will be used at all tracks for the rest of the season, while the other new pieces introduced at Indianapolis will be used at selected events.
The curved skid plate will be used at all tracks greater than one-mile in length, while the one-quarter inch reverse wicker will only be used at Texas Motor Speedway, California Speedway and Michigan Speedway.
At tracks where the reverse wicker is not used, the cars will use brake ducts, tire ramps and sidepod extensions to create drag and extra downforce on the cars.

2. Carpenter Helps Raise Money For Children’s Hospital:
Red Bull Cheever Racing driver Ed Carpenter visited Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis for the Half-Price Books fundraising event.
Carpenter, driver of the No. 52 Red Bull Cheever Racing Dallara/Chevrolet/Firestone, read books, signed autographs, and posed for pictures with the patients and their families.
The event helped raise funds for the 1999 program's inception for children in hospitals, community centers and special needs schools across the nation.
This was 23-year old Carpenter’s second visit to Riley Children’s Hospital. In May, Carpenter and several Indy Racing League IndyCar Series drivers were on hand as part of the Indy 500 Celebration.
